The politician points, and the soldier aims and fires. The bullets don't just fly into bodies on their own. But people are naturally horrified by death and killing, just ask any conscientious objector. So a whole ritual and justification has to be built up to make people willing to do it. If you work to perpetuate that justification, then you are an apologist for murder. Yes, all soldiers are murderers. The politician points, and the soldier aims and fires.

The stereotype of soldiers being poor, uneducated, and inherently violent is propogated by people with a political agenda. I served 6 years in the Army and would most assuredly say he is a typical soldier. @James - my heart goes out to you and your family. Nobody should have to suffer a loss like yours has.
